About Me

My story & values

My name is Tammie, and I’m a counsellor with a deep-rooted passion for supporting others through life’s challenges. My path into counselling was shaped by personal experiences and a strong belief in the power of being truly heard. Having sat on the other side of the therapeutic relationship, I understand how transformative it can be to feel seen, supported, and understood. I strive to offer a warm, empathetic space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings safely and at their own pace.

At the heart of my work is a warm, non-judgemental approach. I believe everyone deserves to be heard, accepted, and supported just as they are.

Outside the therapy room, I enjoy being creative, whether that’s through art, crafts, or finding new ways to express myself. I also value spending time outdoors, taking in nature, and making memories with my family.

Training & professional standards

I am a qualified counsellor with a Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills, a Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies, and a Foundation Degree (Level 5) in Therapeutic Counselling. I am also a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), which means I work within their Ethical Framework and am committed to providing you with a safe, professional, and supportive counselling experience.

I have also completed a Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling, enabling me to offer sessions remotely in a safe and effective way. Whether you prefer phone or video counselling, I can provide flexible support that works around your needs.

Alongside my counselling practice, I have worked for Gloucestershire Health and Care (NHS) for the past eight years across both physical and mental health services. This experience has given me valuable insight into the wide range of challenges people can face and the impact these can have on their wellbeing.

How we can work together

I offer a warm, supportive space where we can work together at a pace that feels manageable for you. I really understand that opening up can feel hard, so we go gently and in a way that feels right for you.

My approach is integrative and collaborative, and I draw on different approaches, always shaping the work around you and what feels most helpful for you. I recognise that everyone experiences and processes things differently, and that certain environments or situations can feel overwhelming or inaccessible at times. You’re very welcome to let me know anything that might make starting or coming to therapy feel easier for you. I will always do my best to work in a way that supports your needs and helps you feel safe and comfortable.

I offer counselling both online and in person, so you can choose what feels right for you, whether that’s the comfort of your own home or meeting face to face.

Availability & location

I'm currently available for sessions on weekdays, with both daytime and evening appointments to suit different schedules. I aim to reply to all emails within 48 hours.

My practice is conveniently located at Basepoint on Tewkesbury Business Park. There is parking available on-site. Situated close to the M5 motorway, getting here is straightforward whether you’re coming from nearby towns or further afield. The building also has a lift, making access easy for everyone.

Yes, confidentiality is very important to me. Everything you share stays between us, except for rare situations where there may be a risk to your safety or the safety of others. If this ever comes up, I’ll explain it fully and answer any questions you have.
